Password resets are self-service. You do not need to ask an admin unless the email never arrives.
Self-service reset
- Go to the sign-in page.
- Click Forgot password? below the password field.
- Enter the email address on your account.
- Click Send reset link.
A message with the subject "Reset your MaintIQ password" arrives within 60 seconds. The link is valid for 30 minutes and one use.
- Click the link, enter a new password (12+ characters, mix of letters and digits), and confirm.
- Sign in with the new password.
If the email does not arrive
- Check spam / junk. Reset emails come from
noreply@getmaintiq.com. - Confirm you used the email address actually on your account — not a personal address if the company set you up with a work email.
- Wait 5 minutes and request again. If you request multiple times, only the most recent link works.
- If still nothing, your domain may be filtering. Ask your IT team to allowlist
noreply@getmaintiq.com.
If the link expired
Just request another reset link. There is no penalty for multiple requests.
Changing your password while signed in
If you already know your password and just want to rotate it:
- Account menu → Account → Security.
- Enter current password.
- Enter new password twice.
- Save. You stay signed in on this device; all other sessions are revoked.
Password requirements
- Minimum 12 characters.
- At least one number.
- At least one non-letter character.
- Cannot match any of your last 5 passwords.
- Cannot appear in the public breached-password database (HIBP check).
Two-factor authentication
After resetting your password, we recommend enabling 2FA in Account → Security → Two-factor. MaintIQ supports authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy).
Account lockout
After 10 failed attempts in 15 minutes, your account is locked for 30 minutes. Admins can unlock immediately in Admin → People → User → Unlock.
