Switching between facilities in MaintIQ

Updated May 18, 2026

If you manage more than one site — a chain of restaurants, a campus of buildings, several factories — MaintIQ is built to keep each facility's data separate while letting you flip between them in one click.

Where the switcher lives

At the top of every page you will see your current facility name next to a small chevron. Click it and a dropdown appears listing every facility your account has access to. Pick one and the entire dashboard reloads scoped to that site.

What "scoped" means

When you switch facilities:

  • The task list shows only duties scheduled at that site.
  • The work orders view shows only that site's reactive jobs.
  • SOPs filter to procedures tagged to that facility (plus organisation-wide SOPs).
  • History scopes to events at that facility.
  • Insights recalculates KPIs for that facility's time period.

Your account, profile, and notification settings are global — they do not change.

Setting a default facility

If you almost always work at one site:

  1. Open Account → Preferences.
  2. Pick a Default facility.
  3. Save.

Next sign-in, MaintIQ will land you on that site automatically.

Granting yourself access to a new facility

If a facility is missing from the dropdown, an admin needs to add you. Admins can do this in Admin → People → Edit user → Facility access.

Cross-facility views

A few areas intentionally ignore the switcher:

  • Ops shows every facility you have access to at once.
  • Super-admin views (for organisation owners) aggregate across the whole tenant.
  • Account & Billing is organisation-wide.

Keyboard shortcut

Press g then f to open the facility switcher from anywhere.
